I was a bit slow this morning and was on the road by 6.30, then just 30 minutes later I found a petrol station and had to have a coffee, also found some maps of Canada which I bought as I really haven’t had time to check one out, I kinda know where I’m going but have been wingin it. Now Im set and ready to go.
Then it was just straight up Trans Canada Hwy 2 for the whole day and it was a smooth ride. Not many hills, big shoulder and not that busy. I wasn’t sure if I was ok to ride on it but early on a police car went past and didn’t say anything so I took it it was ok. It meant I would be able to turn out some miles and got 106 in today, my new record.
The other thing was there was a huge army base along side the hwy so for about 70 kms there was nothing or no where to pull off and get water or food. Luckly I had enough water just and made it .
I did find a couple of ice cream places today and well it was hot again so I had 2. Haha why not aye its summer time. Big serves over here too which is awesome. Its like being home in New Zeal and and out in the country side where they do the same .
I chilled out at a coffee place for 3 hours late afternoon checking the distances I have done which was 850 miles and about 1300kms for the 11 days ive been on the road. Not bad . I have about 6-7 days left and Ill be in New Foundl and and St Johns the eastest point. I heard that its Ice Berg season so I really hope some float by. Ill be flying the drone straight away if there is.
I got the drone out today too and took some photos and video. I filmed myself a little as I rode down the road and cant wait to get the phone going so I can get the Auto Pilot app going and then we will have some sweet footage.
I did some filming with the Go pro too today, Got some cool shots and it wasted a few hours thinking of ways to capture things.
As the evening came I headed off down the road to get some last miles in and find a home for the night. Found a sweet spot again right off the Hwy and better than yesterdays one.
Into Nova Socita tomorrow which is great and getting excited to be nearly out east. Nite
