Well 2 days ago I set out again, heading for Stewart Isl and. I dropped in to see Mark slave in Queenstown and a mate Tom from my work in WA, Australia who is over to ski for the week. Great to catch up with the boys again. Short hellos and south I headed… Made it to Invercargill where I met up with a super special friend Ashlie. I met her on a bus in the North Isl and when I was on my way to get our van from the Guardian Team. Ashlie is an amazing lady who I’m so happy has popped up into my world at this time. Was great catching up again. Then I made Bluff that night to camp out in the back of our van at the campground in the middle of town. Beautiful sunrise in Bluff this morning…
Today, up and off I went down to catch the ferry over here to Stewart Isl and. A short 1 hour boat ride over Foveaux Strait to one of the nicest places in NZ. I love coming to Stewart Isl and and I hope you all can one day.
It was a sunny day with a little wind and being winter not many people around. Awesome!!
Checked into the South Sea Hotel and Pub and went for a walk around town, meeting the locals and telling them about our mission. As I thought, a great response came back at me and I’m excited about starting the run here.
After a great seafood salad lunch I put on my shoes and headed off for a run out and about. Headed out to Lee Bay where I think I will start my run from. Beautiful beaches along the way and yes a few hills, but the bush and wildlife is just amazing.
