Welcome

Hi, and welcome to my blog…
My name is Jup Brown, I’m a 38-year-old plumber from Wanaka, New Zeal and… and I’m preparing to run the length of New Zeal and this September.
I’m just an average Kiwi bloke that likes to run for enjoyment  I am not an athlete. But I’ve set myself this goal and have been training hard over the past year to ensure I achieve it.
Keen to help others along the way, I will be running for the Stroke Foundation of New Zeal and. My inspiration is a friend of mine  Nick Chisholm  a stroke survivor who pushes the boundaries of possibilities every day.
Nick experienced “Locked in Syndrome” after a series of brain stem strokes following a rugby accident in 2000. This left him unable to walk or talk. But with the help of rehabilitation he is achieving incredible things on a daily basis  things other people take for granted. Everyone who meets him can’t help but be affected by his positive energy.
My aim is to raise as much money as possible for The Stroke Foundation of New Zeal and, to help fund specialist gym equipment and rehabilitation for this country’s 45,000 stroke survivors. Nick and I both want to help stroke affected people to reach their full potential.
Stick with me and follow my progress as I jog my way through one pair of perfectly good running shoes after another!
When do we start?

Start location: Bluff, New Zeal and

Estimated finish date: 5 November 2011

In Training
I have just arrived back to Japan from Nepal where I run the world’s highest Everest Marathon on 29 May 2011. The Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon starts from Everest Base Camp at 5356m, and descends 42km over rough mountain trails to the Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar at 3446m.
While in Japan I ran the Iwate ginga 100km challenge marathon which was run in support of the Tsunami and earthquake affected people and area. It was held on the 12th June.
On my return to New Zeal and, my training will step up a notch, as I prepare to run marathons day after day after day…
