Awanui to Orewa

Today I got up and went for a run up the road that I will run later. It was raining on and off but was great to be able to check out the route. Said goodbye to Kim and a huge thank you for letting me stay for free, and off I went south. Lots of little towns along the way and pulled in to say hi where I could. One place that stood out today was Kaeo, a great little town and they had a J andal fence. Loved it!!! Great to talk and meet John at the Kaeo Farm and Fuel petrol station. Will be in touch guys.

Then on to Kerikeri were I met Debbie at Community Fitness. Debbie took the time to listen to me and has alot of ideas for when we come though Kerikeri. Debbie even wrote to me tonight and is already starting to get things happening. Thank you so much Debbie for already making this more special for me with your energy.
Not being in NZ for a few years I was looking forward to getting to Waitangi. Yep went in and on the tour to kearn more about our beautiful NZ. Everyone  at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds were amazing and I loved it. Looked in the door and was met by the bros, went in for some traditional dancing and singing. Then had a, well turned out to be, a private tour (only me on it) around to learn about everything. So much happened there and such a special place in the world with a feeling in the air that is something I haven’t felt before. I’m really looking forward to running through there in late Oct – I hope we can do something special there.

Then down to Kamo where I met the lovley ladies at the ASB Leisure Centre’s Kensington Fitness Club. They helped me out and pointed me in the right way – Thanks ladies!!!!
Onwards to Waipu and Wellsford, and finally made it to Orewa where I had to stop. Tired from the drive and we are right on the beach so looking forward to a run on the beach in the morning. On the way in I found the Orewa Beach Gym where Kathryn was working. I talked to her for 5 minutes and she helped me out as my tour guide and is also keen to help us out and get the Orewa gym members and locals in for a run.Thank you so much Kathryn for everything.
I’m  staying at the Orewa Beach Clipper Court Motel. Ivan was great and helping me out in my tired way.
